Bollywood may be only emerging from its challenging period. The cinema industry saw some promise with Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra and now R Balki’s Chup, which is performing very well at the box office, after a string of high-budget failures and duds. The movie, which also stars Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Dulquer Salmaan, has made almost Rs 4.70 crore in just two days.
According to a Box Office India report, the movie only made Rs 1.85 crore on its second day, but this is still thought to be a decent amount considering it might have made much more. Chup made Rs 2.85 crore on its first day of release. It will now be interesting to see how the movie does on Monday, the real test.
Nevertheless, the movie has performed admirably compared to Ayan Mukerji’s sci-fi feature Brahmastra, which is still making money in its third week even though it is a long way from becoming a blockbuster. On its third Saturday, the movie brought in Rs 5 crore.
