The actor appeared in several blockbuster films and proved his mettle as an artist. Nawaz is not only known for his phenomenal work craft but he is also known for talking like a boss. Over the years, we have seen him express his opinions without fear. Recently, the actor revealed that he will now only play lead roles, even if he has to finance his own films. Nawaz has done many supporting roles and appeared in films like Raees, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick among others.
The actor has earned a lot of applause for his performances, however, he now feels that he is at a stage in his career where he only wants to appear as the lead character in a film.In an interview with DNA, Nawazuddin Siddiqui opened up about wanting to do only lead films and also revealed his plans to return to big films. Asked if it was a deliberate decision to stay away from big films, the actor said, “It’s not that I don’t want to. If I get a strong role in a big film, I will do it the same as before.”
The actor even spoke about it a few months ago and said, “In this industry, the difference between lead and supporting roles matters. It doesn’t matter in Europe or Hollywood. But here the supporting actors are relegated to secondary roles. I somehow missed it and don’t want to repeat it. I will only play lead roles, even if I have to put money into the film myself.” Basically, Nawazuddin Siddiqui meant that he wanted to do roles that had substance.
Elaborating, he revealed, “Like me in Raees, my character was opposite Shah Rukh Khan and that was important. I did Heropanti 2 though it didn’t work but my character was the lead there. It wasn’t like it was a role in a big movie. That’s the kind of role I’m looking for now in big films.”
On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen in Jogira Sara Ra Ra, which also stars Neha Sharma.
