27th March, Mumbai: Finally, Selena Gomez is discussing Hailey Bieber! After learning about the severe criticism and death threats Justin Bieber’s wife and creator of Rhode received, the “Calm Down” singer took to her Instagram story on Friday. She advised her followers to spread positivity and be polite to everyone on social media.
Gomez claimed, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me. “Please inform me that she has been the target of abusive threats and other negative comments. I do not stand for this. Nobody ought to be subjected to bullying or hatred. I’ve always been a proponent of kindness and I genuinely want this to end.” As a sign of support, Gomez also began to follow the 26-year-old model on Instagram.
Bieber wrote a thank you email and addressed the TikTok dispute that allegedly began as a result of a popular TikTok video hours after Gomez stepped out in favour of him. Hailey said, “I want to appreciate Selena for stepping up, as her and I have been talking the last several weeks how to get past this recurring storyline between her and I,” in the lengthy statement that was published on the Instagram story.
“The previous few weeks have been really difficult for everyone involved,” Justin Bieber’s wife continued, “and millions of people are witnessing so much hate around this, which is extremely detrimental.
Although social media is a fantastic tool for connecting and creating community, situations like this only serve to further divide society. In the end, I think love will always be stronger than hate and negativity, and there is always a chance to meet each other with more empathy and compassion, Hailey said in her closing statement.
What happened in the past?
According to reports, the conflict between Bieber and Gomez began after the creator of Rhode Skin was seen online intimidating the “Lose You To Love Me” singer. When Bieber tweeted and later took down a video of Gomez, Kendall Jenner, and Justine Skye mouthing the line, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right,” Gomez’s supporters raced to conclusions. The video was allegedly shared by Bieber to humiliate Gomez, who at the moment had just retaliated against being called fat. However, their feud began after the model became engaged to Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in 2018. But this is the first time Gomez has specifically mentioned Hailey Bieber by name, she has previously sought to persuade fans to stop focusing on the founder of Rhode Skin.
On March 6, Selena thanked her followers on TikTok for their support, adding, “Please, please, consider others’ mental health and practise kindness. I only want the best for everyone, and my heart has been heavy. entire love.”
