16 April 2024, Mumbai: Nationwide, 16 April 2024: The second season trailer for ZEE5, India’s biggest in-house video streaming platform and multilingual storyteller, for its highly renowned series “The Broken News,” was released today. Sambit Mishra wrote the script, and Vinay Waikul directed the programme, which is based on the BBC Studios format “Press.” Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shriya Pilgaonkar will all return to their respective roles as Ameena Qureshi, Dipankar Sanyal, and Radha Bhargava in the upcoming season. The new season, which returns after a two-year hiatus, will launch exclusively on ZEE5 on May 3 and witness the ideological war between the two broadcast news networks, Josh 24×7 and Awaz Bharti, reach unprecedented heights. The conflict between “sach” and “sansani” intensifies in this gripping new season, moving beyond the newsroom and turning into a battle for survival on a personal level.
Who all is joining the cast of The Broken News S2?
The forthcoming season, which is being produced by BBC Studios Productions India, will keep capturing the made-up lives, loves, lies, and hardships of journalists, as well as their conflict between sensationalism and the truth. Many actors, including Taaruk Raina, Indraneil Sengupta, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Faisal Rashid, are returning home in the next episode. Actors Akshay Oberoi, Suchitra Pillai, and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan will also be joining the cast for the upcoming season in significant roles.
Radha Bhargava’s image in the second season has been changed.
Radha Bhargava, who was previously imprisoned because of Sanyal, is shown in the second season teaser as having been released on bond. She is ready to make a splash and is determined to destroy Dipankar and his dirty tricks in order to purify the broadcasting system. Knowing that objective news reporting is insufficient to counter the propaganda of Josh 24×7, she is willing to take unconventional measures to clean up the crooked system. Without Radha, Ameena is left to fight the ‘Sach’ struggle by herself, going into the streets to find the truth even though it puts her life in danger. Although TRPs are dominated by Dipankar’s “sansani” news, he is forced to use his ideology to influence public opinion and further his own and the company’s goals. Still, the important query is the same: “Breaking news: which race will break first?” Is Dekhaga India kya bane sansani bhi?
