Remakes of songs are common in the Bollywood industry. While some of these remakes are beneficial to listeners, others are a total flop. Remaking a beautiful song is a mistake. Take advantage of the opportunity to start something from scratch. Anything else is almost certainly a complete “disaster.” This is something that Bollywood remakes continue to demonstrate.
Here are the ten worst Bollywood song remakes that have gone too far.
- Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi
This has to be one of the most dreadful Bollywood remakes ever! We’ve all heard Falguni Pathak’s lovely song from the film Pyaar Koi Khel Nahin. You must have danced to the tunes of this song if you grew up in the 1990s. In 2019, T-Series released a new version of ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi.’ This song, performed by Neha Kakkar and Divya Khosla Kumar, is a terrible idea. There is nothing good to say about this song. Overall, it lacks the original’s enchantment.
- Ankhiyon se Goli Maare
A 2002 superhit song from “Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare” featured Raveena Tandon and the legendary Govinda. Govinda and Raveena Tandon’s unusual dance moves compelled us to join in. It’s a short song with excellent foot-tapping music.
- Chamma chamma
This has to be the worst song remake ever. Chamma Chamma, a song from the 1998 film China Gate, is extremely popular. It was directed by Anu Malik, sung by Alka Yagnik, and composed by Anu Malik. We like the song. For no apparent reason, the 2021 film Fraud Saiyaan blew a remake of the legendary song Chamma Chamma. Elli AvrRam showed off some impressive dance moves, but that was the end of it. Tanishk Bagchi wrote the song, which Neha Kakkar, Romy, Arun, and Ikka performed.
- The Wakhra Swag
Another bad Bollywood song remake is “The” Wakhra Swag. Wakhra Swag is a 2015 Punjabi album that contains only one song, Wakhra Swag. It’s a catchy song written by talented musicians such as Navv Inder and Badshah. We had a lot of fun dancing to it. The remake of “The” Wakhra Swag from the film Judgemental Hai Kya was released in 2019. Nobody requested this remix.
- Leja Re
Many people regard Leja Leja Re from the album Ustad & The Divas as their favourite song of all time. Shreya Ghoshal, Ustad Sultan Khan, and Salim Merchant performed it. This song’s music was composed by Sandesh Shandilya, and the lyrics were written by Irshad Kamil. Tanishk Bagchi remade and titled Dhvani Bhanushali’s song “Leja Re” as “Leja Re.” The original song’s enchantment could not be duplicated.
- Mere Angne Mein
Mere Angne Mein, from the 1981 film “Lawaris,” is a memorable song. Amitabh Bachchan composed and performed this song. It was both amusing and memorable. Why would anyone think of making a remake of this one? It is impossible to improve on a perfect song. This song, like all other remakes, falls flat. Tell me you didn’t know Mere Angne Mein was remade. Tanishk Bagchi, the king of bad remakes, recreates the song in 2020, featuring Neha Kakkar and Raja Hasan on vocals. The lyrics were written by Vayu.
- Gulabi 2.0
In 1970, legends like Mohammed Rafi, R.D. Burman, and Anand Bakshi collaborated to create the super hit song ‘Gulabi Aankhein Jo Teri Dekhi.’ In the 2017 Bollywood film “Noor,” starring Sonakshi Sinha, a new version of the timeless Gulabi song was featured. Gulabi 2.0, as it is dubbed. It ruined the original version completely. Why are 2.0 versions of classic songs even being attempted?
- Dus Bahne 2.0
Children in the 1990s grew up listening to the Bollywood film Dus’ song Dus Baahane Karke Le Gaya Dil. The song was a huge hit with the audience. In Baaghi 3, this song was remade as Dus Bahane 2.0. The film stars Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor as goths. The new version of this song bears no resemblance to the original. It would be cruel to allow anyone who likes the old version to listen to the new one.
- Masakali
Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan starred in the 2009 Bollywood film Delhi 6. The song Masakali also featured a pigeon named Masakali, which was compared to Sonam Kapoor’s female lead’s free and carefree spirit in the streets of Old Delhi. The song was charming in its own right and was well received by the audience. Masakali 2.0, a remake of Masakali starring Siddharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria, was a flop when it was released in 2020. I couldn’t even get through the video. The song was trashed by all of the artists who worked on the original version. Everyone was inspired by Masakali 2.0 to revisit and appreciate the original version even more.
- Ek Do Teen
Ek Do Teen (Tezaab, 1988) is one of our favourite films, and it will live on in our hearts forever. We have not forgotten the significance of this number. Unfortunately, a remake in Baaghi 2 ruined it for us. Nothing beats the original classic song’s magic created by Madhuri Dixit through her dance moves and expressions. The remake is based on Jacqueline Fernandez and Tiger Shroff’s film Baghi 2.
