4th November 2023, Mumbai: Abhishek Banerjee, known for playing a variety of characters, plays the frightening ‘Sukha’ in the upcoming survival thriller ‘Apurva.’
The actor shared his challenges faced while filming, “I typically approach any character emotionally, which is why it was quite challenging to step out of that mindset in the initial days. The role’s challenge lay in performing it daily and naturally, even when I was fully aware that I was acting. I was improvising scenes, but the physical actions sometimes carried an element of unpredictability, so it was essential to ensure our safety while also making sure the scenes appeared authentic. Shooting in real locations, not on sets, added to the complexity. There were instances of dragging and pulling Tara, who also had a shoulder issue, making it a painful experience. Managing all these factors and portraying everything as genuine was exceptionally tough.”
Apurva is the story of a normal girl who is thrust into exceptional circumstances and will go to any length to survive and live. Set in one of India’s most hazardous cities, Chambal, the film is presented by some of the country’s finest creative powerhouses who have collaborated on this gritty thriller.
Apurva, a Cine1 Studios and Star Studios production, is presented by Star Studios.
Nikhil Nagesh Bhat wrote and directed Apurva, which is produced by Murad Khetani and Star Studios and will be available on Disney+ Hotstar beginning November 15th.
