Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, has earned more than Rs 200 crore at the domestic box office, becoming only the third Hindi film this year to accomplish so, behind Brahmastra and The Kashmir Files.
Despite two other Bollywood releases, Varun Dhawan’s creature comedy Bhediya and Ayushmann Khurrana’s An Action Hero, the thriller had a strong, comfortable run at the box office.
Drishyam 2 had earned Rs 198.93 crore as of Friday, and the film’s fourth Saturday receipts were “upwards of Rs 4 crore,” according to Bollywood Hungama, assuring that it will be “yet another entrant of the year into the 200 crore club.”
Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, and Tabu reprised their roles from the first instalment of the thriller Drishyam 2. Akshaye Khanna, who portrays a cop in the film, is a fresh addition.
