Actress Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar were in the limelight in the nineties. Raveena and Akshay’s affair was the most talked about in the industry. But the relationship between these two could not last for long. Now after many years, Raveena openly expressed this. It was also said that Raveena decided to take the extreme step after breaking up with Akshay. Raveena has reacted to all these discussions. She also kept silent about the decision to adopt two daughters during the breakup. Now after almost 20 years, Akshay and Raveena are going to work together for the film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
History of their Relationship
Akshay and Raveena were dating each other back in 1995. They even got engaged, reportedly, in the early 90s. Due to their personal reasons, unknown to the media, they broke up and parted their ways. Both of them married later to their respective partners and are enjoying a comfortable family life ever since then.
What did Raveena say about her breakup with Akshay?
In a recent interview, Raveena was asked about the discussions after her breakup. Raveena was asked whether you ever laugh at those discussions. To which she said, “Of course, what’s the big deal? Many break ups happen, people move on in life, sometimes they even have good friendships. As partners we were not good for each other but as friends we realised later. What’s the big deal? This is what I don’t understand. I was completely fine. The media had escalated the matter. Because at that time people were worried about the consumption of magazines. What my family and close friends think is more important to me. After a certain point, I don’t care what people think.”
Attempted suicide after breaking Up?
On the talk of suicide attempt after the breakup, Raveena added, “There was no name and no control over what would be written about celebrities. Amid all those circumstances I decided to adopt two girls. Both of them were not able to live their lives properly. All this was happening near my house. So I decided to take their responsibility. I brought them home at the age of 21. If something like this is happening in front of me, I can’t just stand by and watch it. This is my basic nature. My parents took care of them while I was at work. Later when I had children with husband Anil Thadani, he took care of them like siblings.”
