In a new video for a fashion magazine, Janhvi Kapoor invited fans into her opulent Chennai villa.
The actress conducted an in-depth tour of the residence her late mother Sridevi bought and furnished with her favourite items. Janhvi didn’t hold back on the details, showing off her favourite spaces in the house, the stylish bathroom and the tales associated with it, and a statement wall of precious photos of her parents over the years.
She spoke candidly about the works of art that adorn her home, stating, “The first time mum really discovered an affinity for painting was in this very house during one of our holidays. Khushi and I would look for any opportunity to spend more time with her and that’s how we also developed an interest in art.”
The actress also showed her master bedroom to the public, stunning everyone by not having a lock on the bathroom door. She said, revealing the memory associated with it, “I remember mom refused to put a lock as she was so scared that I would go into the bathroom and talk to boys. So, I was not allowed to have a lock on my bathroom. Now the entire room’s done up… but my bathroom still doesn’t have a lock…”
She further added, “A thing I love about this house, apart from the memories, is that it has so much of the old, but also a little bit of the new us.”
Additionally, she revealed a’secret room’ within the area that she was unaware of. She remarked, “I don’t know what’s in there, possibly something nefarious.”
Also shown was Janhvi’s ‘favourite portion of the house,’ a wall covered in framed pictures of her family taken over the years.
She displayed some of Sridevi’s previously unreleased images and remarked, “It’s like a memento wall… It was actually mom’s idea to do this.”
