9th June 2023, Mumbai: On June 9, Sonam Kapoor turned 38 years old. The actor is a mother for the first time as of today. On social media, celebrities like Malaika Arora and Kareena Kapoor have been wishing her a happy birthday with heartfelt comments. Prior to her birthday celebrations in London, Sonam shared a glimpse of the balloon decorations and flowers she had received from her businessman-husband Anand Ahuja on Instagram Stories on Friday. In a previous interview, Sonam had talked openly about Anand, claiming that he had recognised her for who she really was.
In 2020, Sonam remarked to Filmfare, “He loved me even if I was crazy. He is well aware of who I am. I speak without restraint, saying anything comes to mind. He recognised me for who I am, not as some dazzling heroine. He identified me as Sonam, a person who is incredibly innocent and moohfat (honest). Additionally, someone who lacks ambition and competition.”
The actor said, “He said I cannot understand that you’re not ambitious being in the film industry. Being ambitious is not a bad thing, I said. But I have no ambition to be the best. I have higher aspirations and want to collaborate with the right people and perform good job. Your world shrinks when you work in the film industry. That’s what I didn’t want to happen. I’ve known the same people in the business since the beginning. Through the good times and bad, I’ve kept the same friends. not sporadic companions.”
After dating for a few years, Sonam Kapoor married businessman Anand Ahuja in 2018 just a few days before she departed for the 71st Cannes Film Festival. During a vacation in New York, Anand had popped the question to Sonam.
Sonam and Anand frequently make headlines for their relationship, from their celebrity-studded wedding, which Kareena Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor also attended, to their adorable social media PDA with the hashtag “everyday phenomenal.” Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, their son, was born to them in August of the previous year.
Sonam’s Upcoming Project
Sonam is making a comeback in Bollywood after a protracted absence with Shome Makhija’s Blind. She gave birth to her son Vayu in August of last year, and this will be her first movie since then. Sonam discussed her maternity leave during a January 2018 interview with The Indian Express. “I think it was the best decision as I got to take some time off,” she had stated.
Sonam’s most recent appearance was in the 2020 Netflix film AK vs. AK. Prior to it, she starred in two 2019 films: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, in which she shared a screen with her father Anil Kapoor, and The Zoya Factor, which also starred Dulquer Salmaan and Angad Bedi.
