28th March,2024, Mumbai: Ever since Kangana Ranaut was announced as the BJP’s Mandi Lok Sabha candidate for the forthcoming 2024 elections, she has generated a lot of hype. The actor thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for helping her break into the political scene. She was questioned if her decision to enter politics was influenced by the poor box office performance of her films during an interview with Times Now. The actor responded to the same, even pointing out that Shah Rukh Khan had a run of unsuccessful films before to Pathaan.
Reacting to her films’ box office failure, Kangana Ranaut releases statement
In response to the query, Kangana stated, “Nahi aisa kuch nahi hai.” While the movie is still a sensation, the world is not as perfect as it once was. Pathaan chali ki dus saal filmein nahi chali ki Shah Rukh Khan ji ki. Around seven or eight saal koi nahi chali, fir Queen chali. It’s the first time I’ve felt this way. 3–4 times as much as Manikarnika. Emergency is the first thing that comes to mind when something goes wrong. (Not at all. Not a single performer in the planet has never experienced a failure. Shah Rukh Khan suffered ten years of straight failures. Before Queen, I had not had a single hit in seven or eight years. There were a few excellent films that followed. A good three to four years ago, Manikarnika arrived. Emergency, my next film, might be a huge hit.)”
Not a single star from OTT?
In actuality, performers now have more chances to display their talent because to OTT. As the final generation of stars, we cannot be compared to the previous generation. By the mercy of God, we are well-known and in high demand. So, it’s not like that. To waisa to kuch nahi hai. However, I simply want to be more involved in the outside world rather than being engrossed in the artistic community.
The next role that Kangana will play is that of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her film Emergency.
Ranaut Kangana Regarding Urmila Matondkar’s Disputation
After joining the BJP, Kangana Ranaut declared that she would run for office this year from her home town of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The actress was heard referring to Urmila Matondkar as a “soft porn star” in a 2020 video that went popular on social media. The actress has now justified her remarks, though.
In an attempt to clarify her remarks, Kangana referred to Urmila Matondkar as a “soft porn star” and said, “If these actors feel comfortable using terms like item girl, tandoori murgi, and Sheila ki Jawani, why is it considered offensive? In actuality, why would you want to shame them if they are okay with this? Being that Urmila Matondkar is really at ease in that character, I don’t think I ever intended to shame her.”
“I personally believe that I belong to that balanced tribe of cinema artists,” she continued. I’m not very good at item numbers. All I replied, therefore, was that I had a more stunning body of work if she could join a party (the Congress) with her kind of cinematography.”
She went on to discuss how porn stars in India are regarded with the highest regard, using Sunny Leone as an example. “Are terms like’soft porn’ or ‘porn star’ offensive?” the actress asked. No. It’s simply a socially unacceptable word. Ask Sunny Leone about the level of respect porn performers receive in India; nowhere else in the world can compare.”
