Adipurush’s teaser, which was released earlier this year, drew a lot of critical feedback because of the amateurish-looking VFX and visual effects. A visual effects-loving YouTuber earlier this week received plaudits for recreating a moment from the teaser. Many people even suggested that he remake the entire film himself.
Kunwar (@itx kunwar), a visual effects artist and YouTuber, recreated Prabhas’ underwater scene from the Adipurush teaser in a little video that was released on his Instagram account on Friday. The scenario from the teaser is briefly seen at the beginning of the video. Kunwar continues by describing how he used the Kiri engine to create a 3D scan of himself, which he then edited in Blender. Then he gives his interpretation of the scene, which, in terms of tone and even elegance, resembles the one utilised in the teaser quite a bit.
In fact, a lot of viewers thought Kunwar’s effort was superior to the movie, which is said to have a colossal budget of 500 crore. “This cut appears more lovely than 500cr work,” one person said. “This is far better than the original one,” a second person agreed. One YouTuber outperforms the entire Adipurush team, according to a comment, which stated, “Ek YouTuber hi aadipurush ki puri VXF team se acha kaam kar leta hai.” His admirers pushed him to get in touch with the movie’s producers and offer his skills. “Revfx full movie ppl will eagerly give ticket money to view your movie,” one comment stated. Last Monday, Kunwar released a longer video on YouTube in which he discussed the flaws he discovered in the initial teaser and demonstrated how he fixed them.
On October 3, the Adipurush teaser was released. The team responded by claiming they were taking input after the underwhelming reception to it. The film’s release date was delayed from January to June 2023 by the producers on November 7 because they required more time to finish the visual effects. Om Raut, the film’s director, wrote in a letter that “we need to devote additional time to the teams working on the film in order to give the spectators a complete visual experience.” Unverified rumours have since claimed that the movie’s release date may now be further delayed till 2024. There hasn’t been any proof of this, though.
Prabhas portrays Raghava (based on Lord Ram) in the Ramayana-inspired film Adipurush, and Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh (based on Ravana). Sita and Lakshman are portrayed by Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh, respectively. One of the most expensive Indian movies ever filmed is said to be this one.
