4th June 2023, mumbai: Terrorism continues to be a significant global concern. However, it is worth pondering over the identity of these terrorists. They are not from a distant land; rather, they are individuals who share our blood and flesh. What sets them apart is their mindset—a twisted perspective that normalizes the brutal killings of innocents in the name of religion and jihad.
These terrorists have been indoctrinated to believe in the fictitious concept of 72 virgins, enticing them with the promise of a blissful afterlife. But what if this notion of 72 virgins is nothing more than a fabrication? What if, instead of meeting their imagined reward of paradise, they find themselves trapped in a distressing limbo on Earth?
This thought-provoking teaser serves as a stark reminder that suicide bombings are the result of relentless brainwashing. Ordinary individuals are manipulated by terrorists who exploit their faith and religious beliefs. Even the bombers themselves, who come from families like ours, become victims of this twisted ideology. Deluded by the false promise of 72 virgins, they embark on a destructive path that ultimately leads to a gruesome fate. It underscores the urgent need to address the root causes of terrorism and the power of manipulation.
Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, a two-time National Award-winning director, emphasizes the impact of manipulation and the importance of understanding the truth behind terrorism. Producer Gulab Singh Tanwar acknowledges the emotional weight of supporting such a project, stating that “72 Hoorain” is an apt portrayal of how innocent individuals are deceived with fictional stories in the name of religion, transforming them into brutal terrorists. He believes it is crucial to expose these falsehoods.
Co-producer Ashoke Pandit, known for his outspokenness about societal issues, expresses confidence in the film’s ability to provoke thought among the audience. He emphasizes that “72 Hoorain” challenges prevailing beliefs and ideologies that are detached from reality, revealing how they are used to manipulate individuals into becoming terrorists under the guise of jihad. Ashoke Pandit urges viewers to approach the movie with a rational mindset.
“72 Hoorain” features Pavan Malhotra and Ameer Bashir in lead roles and is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 7, 2023.
