4th June 2023,Mumbai: Dimple Kapadia, an experienced performer, has openly expressed her passion for the art of acting. In a recent interview, Dimple playfully described herself as a “craving maniac” and self-proclaimed “crazy,” revealing that she tends to neglect her health when deeply engrossed in her work.
Furthermore, Dimple enthusiastically discussed her involvement in three films released this year, namely “Pathaan,” “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” and “Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo.”In “Pathaan,” directed by Siddharth Anand, Dimple portrayed the character of Nandini Grewal, the head of the JOCR department. The film featured an ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Ashutosh Rana. In “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” directed by Luv Ranjan, Dimple portrayed the role of Renu Arora, Mickey (Ranbir Kapoor)’s mother. The movie also starred Boney Kapoor, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Shraddha Kapoor, and Ranbir.
During the interview with PTI, Dimple candidly expressed, “I’m like a craving maniac… “ She further elaborated on her hyperactive nature, confessing that she often forgets to eat and sleep while consumed by her work. Dimple acknowledged her eccentricities, admitting, “I worry till I feel sick. I’m insane. Although I don’t like that about myself, it is who I am. I’m compelled to. That might be effective for me.”
Dimple’s three releases this year, “Pathaan,” “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” and the television series “Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo” on Disney+ Hotstar, were discussed during the Interview. However, Dimple clarified that having back-to-back releases was not a deliberate decision on her part. She attributed her success and career trajectory to a higher power, stating, “In my life, I have never planned anything. I don’t have to since God’s plan is much greater than anything I could possibly fathom. It is fate. God’s grace and will are at play.”
In her latest television series, “Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo,” Dimple portrays the character of Savitri, also known as Rani Ba. The show revolves around Savitri running a drug cartel from a tranquil town in northern India, with the assistance of her daughters-in-law, Bijli (Isha Talwar), Kajal (Angira Dhar), and Shanta (Radhika Madan). The eight-part crime drama series was created and directed by Homi Adajania and featured notable actors such as Monica Dogra, Deepak Dobriyal, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, and Monica Mitra. It premiered on May 5.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dimple Kapadia has graced the silver screen in Bollywood masterpieces like “Bobby,” “Saagar,” “Rudali,” “Ram Lakhan,” “Gardish,” and “Dil Chahta Hai,” among others. She has also made appearances in films like “Finding Fanny,” “Dabangg,” and “Tenet,” showcasing her versatility as an actress.
