13 November 2023, Mumbai: While now a highly successful and popular Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone had a modest start, facing struggles in the industry. In a recent interview, she reflected on her early days, recalling the time she relocated to a new city and had to transport her own bags.
Deepika Padukone Reflects on the Challenges of Her Early Days
During an interview, Deepika Padukone discussed the challenges she faced in the initial phase of her career before entering Bollywood, “Back then, I had so many things to deal with, not just professionally but also personally. I was a teenager moving to a new city with no family or friends in a new industry. I had to figure out my meals and transport, and lug my own bags around.”
She further mentioned that after finishing work late at night, she would haul her suitcase across the city in a cab, occasionally dozing off during the journey, “My mother would be so worried about whether I would get home safe. Today when I look back at that journey, I think, ‘Not bad, girl! You did this and you did it on your own.’ But at that moment, there was no time to reflect,” she added.

In the interview, the actress from “Pathaan” emphasized the significance of spending time with her husband, Ranveer Singh, and highlighted the effort they both invest in their relationship. She acknowledged that work commitments sometimes limit their time together but expressed a preference for the quality of the time they share, “It’s not the quantum of time but the quality of that time we have together. We love it when it’s just the two of us but we also love spending time with our families,” she said
On the professional front, Deepika is set to appear in Siddharth Anand’s aerial action film “Fighter” alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. The movie is scheduled for release on Republic Day next year.
