6 December 2023, Mumbai: Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal,” featuring Ranbir Kapoor, continues its resounding success at the box office, showing no signs of slowing down even on its fifth day. As the film inches closer to the Rs 300 crore mark in India, its global trajectory eyes an impressive Rs 500 crore, reaffirming its blockbuster status.
Unprecedented Box Office Performance
Ranbir Kapoor’s stellar performance in “Animal” has propelled it to unprecedented heights, with the movie grossing an exceptional Rs 40 crore on its fourth day and maintaining the momentum with Rs 38 crore on the fifth day. The opening weekend set the tone with a staggering Rs 201 crore, making it the second-highest first-day earner in Bollywood history, surpassed only by Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan.”
Animal Global Milestones
As of the fifth day, “Animal” has amassed a nett domestic total of Rs 283 crore, and with a four-day total of Rs 425 crore, it is poised to cross the Rs 300 crore milestone imminently. The film has already achieved a remarkable Rs 450 crore worldwide, solidifying its position among the top-grossing Indian blockbusters of the year.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Box Office Supremacy
“Animal” marks Ranbir Kapoor’s second-largest hit domestically and globally, surpassing last year’s “Brahmastra” on both fronts. With eyes set on surpassing the Rs 342 crore domestic and nearly Rs 590 crore global gross of “Sanju,” the film is anticipated to secure a spot among the top five highest-grossing Indian blockbusters of the year.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Directorial
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, “Animal” continues to dominate the box office with a 42% occupancy for its Hindi release on the fifth day. While the Telugu market remains robust, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala have shown comparatively subdued responses. Despite controversies surrounding its depiction of toxic masculinity, “Animal” mirrors the success of Vanga’s earlier works, “Arjun Reddy” and “Kabir Singh,” establishing Vanga as a formidable force in the industry. With two weeks free from competition, “Animal” is poised for an extended triumph until Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” attempts to make its mark in the upcoming weeks.
