The film’s commanding performance continued with an additional ₹30 crore in domestic collections on Wednesday, accumulating a staggering ₹312.96 crore in India. Despite its formidable success, ‘Animal’ still aims to surpass the benchmark set by ‘Sanju’.
Occupancy and Early Figures
The Wednesday occupancy rates for ‘Animal’ indicated 34.88% in Hindi, 25.67% in Telugu, and 18.95% in Tamil. Released alongside Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ on December 1, ‘Animal’ initiated its theatrical journey with an astounding ₹63.8 crore and subsequently soared to an unimaginable ₹71.46 crore on its first Sunday.
Challenging ‘Sanju’s Record
‘Animal’ sets its sights on becoming Ranbir Kapoor’s highest-grossing film, trailing behind the staggering global collection of ₹586.85 crore amassed by ‘Sanju’. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Sanju’ showcased Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Sanjay Dutt, holding the current record that ‘Animal’ eyes to surpass.
