Actor Ayushmann Khurrana disclosed that his parents beat him severely frequently while he was growing up. He discussed his struggles to become a successful actor and his experiences throughout those times.
He disclosed that when he was younger, his father, astrologer P Khurana, was quite strict. In a hilarious tone, the actor added that North Indian parents frequently spank their kids because it is ingrained in the culture. He spoke about his tough times in Bombay, including his time on the reality series Roadies and his struggles as an actor in the film industry.
Ayushmann started his career as an anchor before becoming well-known for winning the second season of Roadies in 2004. With Vicky Donor, he made his Bollywood debut in 2012. In a recent interview, he discussed his early life, in particular his difficult times, and recalled the time he first arrived in Bombay to look for employment.
Ayushmann explained how he found a job. Ayushmann responded, “Mera bhi Shah Rukh Khan moment hua tha, ki jab mai aaya tha Mumbai naya nayamaine socha tha jab tak mujhe kaam nhi milega, mai samundar ki taraf dekhungi nahi, mai beach mai nahi jaaunga, when asked what was on his thoughts when When I arrived in Bombay, I also had a Shah Rukh Khan moment and was adamant that I wouldn’t go to the beach unless and until I had a job. 3-4 din mai radio ka contract haath mai aagya. I received a call from a radio station within 3–4 days.
Ayushmann explained how his father was extremely harsh and severely beat him as a young child. In a mocking tone, he stated, “North mai jisne maa baap se thappad na khaaya ho, chappal na khaayi ho toh woh upbringing ho hi nahi sakti (In North India, parents typically slap their children, beat them up by slippers, it is part of our parenting)”
He also related a personal incident involving his father, who visited Bombay and predicted that his son would become a famous actor. Ayushmann claimed that although being unaware of the occurrence, he afterwards worried about what would happen if he didn’t wind up becoming one.
An Action Hero, Ayushmann’s most recent feature film, was released on December 2. In theatres, the picture had a relatively slow start. Anirudh Iyer, who previously served as an assistant director on Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2011) and Zero, is the film’s director (2018). The screenplay was written by Neeraj Yadav. Alongside Ayushmann, Jaideep Ahlawat also appears.
