4th April 2023, Mumbai: Actor Vivek Oberoi recently recalled the hardships he faced in the early days of his career, following views expressed by Priyanka Chopra on biases in Bollywood. During a recent interaction, Priyanka Chopra had spoken about the biases that exist in the film industry, which affect the casting of actors in Bollywood.
The actor also spoke about the lack of opportunities for newcomers in Bollywood. He said that many aspiring actors don’t get the chance to show their talent because of the nepotism and favoritism that exists in the industry. Oberoi stressed that the industry needs to open up to new talent and give them a fair chance.
Oberoi said that he was inspired by Priyanka’s comments and that he is glad that she has spoken out about the issues in the industry. He said that he hopes that her words will inspire a change and that the industry will start to embrace new talent.
The actor also shared his own experiences with sexism and how he has been typecast in certain roles because of his gender. He said that he has been vocal about such issues and has worked hard to prove that he is capable of doing much more than what he is given.
