2nd June 2023,Mumbai: The 27th anniversary of the marriage between renowned film producer Boney Kapoor and the late Sridevi was commemorated through a concise yet poignant post. Boney Kapoor shared a captivating photograph from their enchanting trip to Venice, accompanied by a caption that specified the precise day, year, and location of their wedding. The image depicted both of them, donning matching black jackets, radiating joy as they smiled for the camera during a boat ride in Venice.
On Instagram, Boney Kapoor simply captioned the photo with the words, “June 2nd, 1996, marked our wedding day in Shirdi. Today, we celebrate 27 years together.” The post garnered numerous heartfelt responses, including an outpouring of heart emoticons, with renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra joining in the sentiment. Additionally, Shikhar Pahariya, who seems to have reconciled with Janhvi Kapoor, Boney’s daughter, after a previous breakup, expressed their emotions by leaving a heart emoji in the comments section.
One of Sridevi’s fan pages conveyed the comforting message, “She will always be by your side.” Another individual shared, “She will forever reside in my heart.” Another admirer responded, saying, “Hold on to the memories you shared together. That is the most profound way to keep the essence of the departed alive within us.”
Sridevi tragically passed away in the United Arab Emirates in February 2018 while attending a family wedding. She was Boney’s second wife, and they were blessed with two daughters, Janhvi, aged 26, and Khushi Kapoor, aged 22. Boney’s first wife, Mona Shourie Kapoor, had passed away from cancer in 2012. Anshula Kapoor, aged 32, and actor Arjun Kapoor, aged 37, are their children from that marriage. Since Sridevi’s untimely demise, Boney has sought solace in the unwavering support of his four children, who have grown remarkably close to one another.
In 2019, Boney Kapoor openly spoke about the irreplaceable void left by Sridevi’s absence. He expressed, “Today, this emptiness, this void, can never be filled. However, we can find solace in the well wishes and kindness that she left behind… She resides in my thoughts, alongside our children. Every single day, not just for me but also for my children, her absence is deeply felt. We must come to terms with this reality of life. Unfortunately, she was taken away from us sooner than anyone could have anticipated.”
