3rd June 2023,Mumbai: Renowned for his portrayal of Shakuni Mama in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, veteran actor Gufi Paintal finds himself in the hospital as he battles heart and kidney ailments. Providing an update on Saturday, Hiten Paintal, Gufi’s nephew, shared the latest on his uncle’s health. “He is currently stable and out of immediate danger. Due to age-related complications with his heart and kidneys, he was admitted about 6-7 days ago. Although he Initially tested negative, he is now doing well and steadily recovering under close medical supervision. The doctors will discharge him once they are confident of his readiness,” Hiten informed.
At 78 years old, Gufi Paintal’s health concerns have garnered attention, with his brother, the comedian and actor Paintal, urging everyone to pray for his recovery. Paintal reached out to news organization ANI to share the distressing news about Gufi’s condition. “Gufi Ji’s health is in critical condition,” he revealed, highlighting the issues with his kidneys and heart. He fervently appealed for prayers to support Gufi’s well-being. Currently, Gufi Paintal is undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Andheri West Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital.
The news of Gufi Paintal’s health situation became public after actor Tina Ghaai shared a picture on her Instagram account. Alongside the image of the actor, she captioned, “GufiPaintal ji #Takleef mein hain #prarthana ki jeeye #omsairam #prayers #prayersforhealing #prayersneeded.”
Gufi made his acting debut with the 1975 film Rafoo Chakkar, which also featured Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Asrani, and others. Throughout his career, he has appeared in various TV shows and movies, including Bahadur Shah Zafar, Kanoon, Om Namah Shivay, CID, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai, and Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan. However, it is his role in Mahabharat that remains etched in the memories of viewers. Notable TV programs he has been a part of include Jay Kaniya lal Ki, RadhaKrishn, and Shree Krishn. He has also made appearances in films like Suhaag, Desh Pardesh, and Dillagi.
