Shark Tank India’s “sharks” made an appearance to Amitabh Bachchan’s quiz programme Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is in its penultimate week of production, in preparation for the forthcoming season 2. And the 80-year-old actor took use of the chance to promote his own company’s product, the AB tissue. Amitabh has frequently been seen giving tissues to the show’s distraught participants.
Sony shared the promo on social media with the caption, “Gyan ke manch par aaye business ki duniya ke bade ‘Sharks’, aur unke saamne @amitabhbachchan ji apne product ‘AB Tissue’ ki pitch se karna chahte hain apne naye business ki shuruaat! (The sharks of the business world visited the sets of KBC and Amitabh Bachchan used the opportunity to pitch his new business idea.”
Amitabh Bachchan arrives and pitches his business proposal while holding a tissue box in the video. He claims, “AB tissue is khas mahilao ke liye hum lekar aaye hain. The product’s initial testing period has concluded. In particular, we have brought this AB tissue for ladies. To aap hamare is product mein nivesh kar sakenge ya nahi. We’ve already completed the preliminary trial for it. Can you invest in our product, then, or not?” Numerous footage of Amitabh giving tissues to several female KBC contestants follow this.
Anupam Mittal, the creator of Shaadi.com, claims that if the tissue is marketed under the name of the senior actor, they may invest at least 100 crore. BoAt founder Aman Gupta may be seen nodding in agreement with his proposal. Peyush Bansal, the CEO of Lenskart.com, Vineeta Singh, the CEO of Sugar, and Amit Jain, the founder of CarDekho, are also shown sitting next to them.
The sharks were stunned by Amitabh’s modest demand in response to the offer. “Chhoti si bat hai sir,” he murmured. It’s a tiny thing, sir, but might I have 25% of the total as a signing bonus? 100 cr mein se signing amount milega.”
In the first week of January 2020, Shark Tank season 2 will return to television. Ashneer Grover, a former shark, won’t be appearing on the programme.
