02 May 2023, Mumbai: Following Monday’s 18-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants by Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir appeared to be engaged in a verbal altercation.
For RCB against LSG in a low-scoring game, Virat Kohli was motivated. He and Faf du Plessis had a productive opening combination that saw him score 31. He later took a few nifty catches as his team successfully held on to a modest 126.
Virat Kohli and LSG coach Gautam Gambhir were observed having a heated discussion just after the game. Amit Mishra, RCB captain Faf du Plessis, and LSG assistant coach Vijay Dahiya had to separate the two. Following the altercation, Kohli was seen speaking with LSG captain KL Rahul, possibly explaining what had occurred.
Virat Kohli appeared angry, although it was unclear what the issue was.
At their previous IPL meeting in 2023, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium by chasing down a huge total. On April 10, after that victory, Gautam Gambhir looked at the crowd in an intense joy and placed a finger to his lips. When Virat Kohli finished a catch to dismiss Krunal Pandya on Monday early in the evening after RCB successfully defended a low total, he even asked the Lucknow crowd to remain silent.
Virat Kohli appeared more composed at the conclusion, so everything appeared to be alright.
The verbal conflict between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir on the pitch has occurred previously. Back in 2013, a heated argument between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders at the time, grabbed headlines at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, the two had moved past those contentious exchanges and a few years later, they even laughed together at an India training session.
