It’s here; February is here. To all the singles out there like us, February has arrived to show how worthy we are for not being able to find any partner for us, and even if we did how terrible the relationship_titanic was, however, do not plan to go Kiara mode from ‘Dear Zindagi’. Anyway, we have got you covered. There is no need to send any gifts, roses, cards, or even teddies; your money is yours, and your plate of biryani is also yours. No need to share any chocolates or even kisses, oops! Hershey’s kisses, of course.
Every year on February 14th, Valentine’s Day is observed. The following day, February 15th, is Singles Awareness Day. It’s claimed that social isolation led to the creation of Single Awareness Day. So yes, we have a day for us; don’t be sad. Lets Par-tay! Valentine’s Day is always a pointless and irritating day. However, it can feel more like adding salt to an already-opened wound for people who are alone and not particularly thrilled about it. Here are a few ideas on how to be “AATMA_NIRBHAR.”
Go to a movie:
Yes ! Go and occupy a corner seat. You know the reason why, obviously, but do it anyway. It will give you peace of mind when the couple next to you feels irritated by looking at you. LOL! Don’t do that. Just enjoy the movie somewhere in the middle seating area because the sound and screen from there look great. Trust me.
Theme Par-tay “Single”:
Host a party and keep the theme ‘Single’ and rant about your ex or even the couple you like in your neighbourhood—relationship goals, you know! Jokes apart, bring your best friends who are single over, prepare a delicious meal, pop some champagne, and raise a glass to your independence and do that twerk.
Plan a date:
Who said you need a partner to go on a date, go out with your bestie, spoil yourself with some pampering, visit your favourite bar, try out new foods, and explore restaurants? Let those couple realise they were better off alone, haha! Behave like ‘ja simran ja! Jee lee apni zindagi’
Something out of the box:
Send flowers to any elderly person, make them feel special, play with the kids in the park like you always wanted to do in your childhood, run like Phoebe, spend time with your fur baby, and do a photo shoot with them. Caption it! Post it! Live your life, love yourself the fullest, because at the end of the day, it will always be you vs. you, whether in a relationship or single, build your individuality, and bring out the best in you.
Last but not least, to all the singles out there, you really don’t need any ideas because you know what will make yourself happy out of all the things. Choose yourself on that day and ask yourself for the commitment to be you in every situation, even when someone tries to change you, despite all the storms and hardships. Never blame yourself for decisions that were not in your hands. Remember, one drop at a time is enough to make a whole glass of champagne. Toodles!
