Early Life
Shardul was born on October 16, 1991, in Palghar. His father was a coconut merchant. Shardul was a passionate cricket fan since childhood; he was famous in his school for hitting sixes. As he realised cricket was his calling, he fully dedicated himself to it. He used to travel daily from Palghar to Mumbai for his cricket until his coach offered him a stay with him. Watching his dedication to a game, his parents always supported him.
Education
Shardul did his early schooling at Anand Ashram Convent English High School. After that, he got admitted to Swami Vivekanand International School in Palghar, Mumbai. He passed with good grades. Later on,for higher studies, Thakur enrolled at Mumbai University.
Career
Shardul’s journey started when he made up his mind to travel 100 kilometres daily from Palghar to Mumbai just to practice. He was dedicated to his game. The struggle seemed worth it when his coach offered him to stay at his place.
Now, Shardul was nicely continuing with his training and soon he got selected to play Ranji Trophy in Mumbai. After that, he played against Sri Lanka and took 4 for 17 in a match for Nidahasa Prize. His consistent performance earned him a place in the Indian Cricket team. In 2022 ipl Shardul was bought by Delhi Capitals for 10.75 cr. In November 2022 Shardul was traded to Kolkata knight riders in exchange for Aman Khan for the 2023 IPL season.
