13 June 2023, Mumbai: Jennie, a member of girlgroupBLACKPINK, has had a busy week with a number of updates on her job and health making their way to the fans. However, a number of rumours have also snuck in, making everyone curious about the starlet. Jennie was apparently in talks to join another high-profile film after making her acting debut in HBO’s The Idol, but it appears that the stars were not in her favour for this one.
It was rumoured that the member of BLACKPINK would be joining the cast of the upcoming Marvel Studios film Kingdom War – New Agents of Atlas. The rumour went on to say that Jennie had been approached about portraying Luna Snow, also known as Seol Hee, in the television show. She was so anticipated to be in the following works.
To the astonishment and dismay of fans, YG Entertainment vehemently denied having received any offer for Jennie to star in a future Marvel production on June 12. The “Solo” singer was allegedly cast in the MCU project as Seol Hee, a superhero with ice-manipulating abilities and a hero of the Pacific Rim. The Korean and English-speaking multilingual character in the Marvel Super War video game is reportedly voiced by Kpopband f(x)’s Luna.
An ‘insider’ said that the information about the alleged offer was shared during a Twitter conversation. According to the tipster, YG Entertainment rejected Jennie’s planned appearance in the Marvel Studios project. According to a source, the renowned franchise and YG Entertainment have been ‘in conversations’ since September 2021 about casting Jennie in a future series.
The agency, however, is alleged to have ‘remained silent’ over the issue for a year and seven months before responding on April 29 of this year and stating that Jennie would not be able to attend due to her busy schedule as a member of BLACKPINK. They reportedly said that because of her hectic schedule, she is unable to commit to more than one project at a time.
The same source disclosed that Jennie was asked about taking part in both the Agents of Atlas television series and a future Avengers movie. These criticisms about their artist have not yet received a response from YG Entertainment.
