Stan Lee was the editor of the massive Marvel Comic franchise, which led to the birth of one of the most well known and commercially succesfull movie franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He was brain behind almost 3600 comics and over 32 film adaptations. He co-created many well-known Marvel characters, including the superheroes Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, the Scarlet Witch, and Black Widow. In particular, he worked closely with co-writers/artists Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. The debut of these and other superhero characters in the 1960s helped establish a more realistic style in superhero comics, and in the 1970s Lee contested the Comics Code Authority’s limitations, which inadvertently resulted in adjustments to its regulations. He pursued the expansion of Marvel franchises in other media in the 1980s, although with varying degrees of success.
Unfortunately, Stan lee passed away in 2018 due to a medical complication. The 95 year old legend was just going to celebrate his 96th birthday a month later. What most fans and cast mourn, is the fact that Lee wasn’t there to witness the release of the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the movie Avengers: Endgame.
Many fans speculate that Stan lee was supposed to play the character of Old Steve Rogers.
This documentary will be sure the kind of homage a legendary man like Stan Lee deserves.
