When “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” debuts on the streaming platform the following month, Disney+ subscribers will be able to enter the Quantum Realm.
On May 17, the movie, starring Jonathan Majors, Evangeline Lilly, and Paul Rudd, will be available on Disney+ globally. That is 89 days after “Quantumania” debuted nationwide in the United States on February 17. The movie will make its streaming premiere on May 16 in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats, one month after it was made available for rent or purchase on April 18 in digital form.
One of the worst-reviewed Marvel films to date is “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” The movie had an estimated $200 million production budget, and it made $213 million during its domestic theatre run and $261.6 million globally.
Marvel’s third Ant-Man film features superheroes Scott Lang (Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Lilly) continuing their journey as Ant-Man and The Wasp. With the help of Hope’s parents Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), as well as Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds itself exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures, and setting out on an adventure that will push them beyond the boundaries of what they thought possible.
The Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard-produced “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
“Quantumania” combines fun with bewilderment, relentlessness, and numbness before turning enjoyable again just when you think you’ve had enough. The do-or-die saving-the-cosmos plot in this bustling Marvel adventure is unusual for us fans; it frequently seems as though it is there only to set up the next dozen chapters of something.
