02 May 2023, Mumbai: Jimin of BTS is the first K-Pop solo artist to ever keep a record of 47 days on the Spotify Global Daily Top Artists chart. He also held a spot on the Spotify USA Daily Top Artists chart for 18 days, earning him the 6th K-Pop act in history to do so. BTS’s Jimin has demonstrated his popularity with these and many other accomplishments.
The number of units sold in the US for Jimin’s “Like Crazy” has topped 500,000, according to reports of the global music business “charts data” .As a result, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded “Like Crazy” gold certification. Jimin previously received RIAA gold certification for each of his three solo tracks off the BTS album, including “Lie,” “Serendipity Full Length,” “Filter,” and even “Like Crazy.” In addition, four solo songs received gold certification for the first time in K-pop history. ‘Like Crazy’ by Jimin set a record for 2023’s biggest first-week sales, according to the media, and was followed by a Korean solo artist’s record for biggest week in US history. Sales records were set, they claimed.
The fourth week after its release, on April 29, Jimin’s song “Like Crazy” reached number 85 on the Billboard main single chart, or “Hot 100,” setting a record for four straight weeks, the longest stretch for a Korean solo song in ten years. The pre-release song “Set Me Free Pt.2” is followed by “Like Crazy,” the first Korean solo artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard “Hot 100.” In addition, four tracks from “Map of the Soul: 7,” including Taeyang’s collaboration song “VIBE” and BTS’ solo song “Filter,” managed to hit the charts seven times in all. After “Set Me Free Part 2” and “With You,” “Like Crazy” became Jimin’s third number-one single on the “Digital Song Sales” list. It is currently in second position after topping the chart for two consecutive weeks.
