26 July 2023, Mumbai: K-pop sensation, Jungkook, has once again taken the world by storm with his latest solo single titled “Seven,” featuring American rapper Latto. This incredible track has made history by debuting at the coveted No. 1 spot on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of July 29, 2023. This remarkable achievement puts Jungkook in an elite league as he becomes the second member of BTS to secure a No. 1 position on the Hot 100, following Jimin’s success with “Like Crazy” earlier this year.

Since its release on July 14, Jungkook’s “Seven” has been captivating music enthusiasts worldwide. The song’s popularity skyrocketed rapidly, dethroning Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” from its highly sought-after top spot. According to Billboard reports, the track garnered an astounding 21.9 million streams and had an airplay audience of 6.4 million between July 14 and July 20. Additionally, it sold a combined total of 153,000 digital and CD singles during that period. Overwhelmed by this overwhelming response, Jungkook took to Weverse to express his excitement translated by @BTStranslation_ on Twitter saying,”Let’s go even higher.” Not only did “Seven” conquer the Hot 100 chart but it also secured prominent positions on various other Billboard charts. It reached Number Two on Digital Song Sales chart , Number Four on Streaming Songs chart , Number Thirtyon Adult Pop Airplay chart , and Number Thirty Threeon Pop Airplay chart further solidifying Jungkook’s prowess as a solo artist.
Jungkook’s “Seven” and its Ongoing Success
For Jungkook, this latest triumph marks his seventh time reigning at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Previously, he achieved this chart-topping position six times as part of BTS between 2020 and 2021. The group’s most recent Hot 100 success came with their collaboration with Coldplay, titled “My Universe.” On the other hand, for Latto, “Seven” is a groundbreaking achievement as it marks her first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. With this collaboration, Latto also becomes the first rapper to reach the top spot on the Hot 100 in 2023.
