14th May 2023, Mumbai: On Saturday, Ali Fazal attended the international premiere of the latest Fast and Furious film, Fast X, in Rome. He walked the red carpet and had the opportunity to catch up with the franchise’s lead actor, Vin Diesel. Against the backdrop of Rome’s iconic colosseum, the two stars posed for photographs together. Ali was attired in a matching black overcoat, shirt, and trousers.
Although Ali Fazal played a brief role in the 7th instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Furious 7, marking his debut in Hollywood, he did not make an appearance in the latest instalment, Fast X. However, due to his past involvement with the franchise, he received an invitation to attend the international premiere in Rome as a guest. In the film, he portrayed a character named Safar in a cameo appearance.
Ali Fazal took to Instagram to share a video featuring himself with Vin Diesel. In the caption, he expressed his gratitude towards Vin Diesel for the love and support he received from him. He also mentioned the Fast X premiere that took place at the Colosseum in Rome and added a touch of humour, stating that when in Rome, one goes gladiator style. Although he did not appear in Fast X, he felt proud to be part of the Fast family and expressed his appreciation towards the team. Additionally, he thanked the designer Manish Malhotra for helping him showcase his style.
Ali Fazal is scheduled to embark on a promotional tour for his upcoming Hollywood film, Kandahar, alongside co-star Gerard Butler. The film is slated to release in the United States on May 26th.
Before attending the Fast X premiere in Rome, Ali Fazal expressed his excitement, saying that he was thrilled to be part of the event. He also shared that he felt honoured to have received an invitation, given his past involvement with the franchise. He expressed gratitude for the opportunities that the Fast and Furious franchise has provided him, as it marked the beginning of his work in the global film industry. Ali further added that he was looking forward to reuniting with the cast and crew of the franchise and was eager to witness the action-packed magic that they had created for Fast X.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X is scheduled to release in theatres on May 19th. The star-studded cast includes Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Jason Statham, John Cena, Brie Larson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, and Cardi B. Additionally, Meadow Walker, the daughter of the late actor Paul Walker, will make a guest appearance in the film.
