14th June 2023, Mumbai: The settlement money that Johnny Depp got from his ex-wife Amber Heard is being given to a good cause. According to reports, the actor would give $200,000 to each charity as part of the actor’s distribution of the $1 million settlement from Amber. According to a source cited in a CNN report on Tuesday, Johnny Depp has decided to contribute the settlement money to the Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Marlon Brando’s Tetiaroa Society charity, and the Amazonia Fund Alliance. These five charities were also mentioned in the report. According to the source, the actor intends to give $200,000 to each of the five charities.
According to a report by Entertainment Tonight, one of the charities chosen by Johnny Depp is Make-A-Film, which matches actors, writers, directors, and producers with kids who are suffering catastrophic illnesses or those that could lead to their death. The Painted Turtle, the second charity, offers ailing kids a free camp experience that can change their lives.
Red Feather, another nonprofit organisation, collaborates with Native American communities to create and execute effective housing solutions. Teitaroa Society, meantime, secures the future of coastal and island communities. The Amazonia Fund Alliance, which assists in funding the initiatives of Brazilian nonprofit organisations, will receive the fifth donation from Johnny.
After dating for a number of years, the Hollywood celebrities wed in a private ceremony at their Los Angeles residence in 2015.
