In a recent conversation on The Filmy Charcha Podcast, host Rahul Varun sat with Krishnavataram star and Vaaste fame Sidhharth Gupta for a candid conversation about choosing acting over engineering. The actor smiled and said, "Main ban gaya tha. Aisa nahi hai" when asked if he wanted to become an engineer. Sidhharth Gupta revealed that after completing engineering and internships, the corporate lifestyle never felt right even though there was nothing wrong with the profession.
Sidhharth Gupta explains why desk life did not suit him
Talking about his internships, the actor said, "Maine internship kari thi." "Dono desk job thi." "Mujhe bas wo lifestyle hi nahi samajh aaya." "Mujhe wo desk par baithna taking orders." Sidhharth Gupta also added, "I am not saying ki kuch kharab hai. Please jo karta hai bahut achha karta hai. Lekin har insaan alag bana hua hai." Seeing a senior who had worked for 25 years made him ask himself, "Yaar what do I want from my life?" That question changed everything.
One small lie brought Sidhharth Gupta to Mumbai
The Krishnavataram star admitted that acting had always been his passion. "Mera passion really lie karta tha acting mein." To give himself one chance, Sidhharth Gupta confessed, "Maine ghar par thoda jhooth bol ke Bombay aaya tha ki mera interview hai yahan par." After reaching Mumbai, the actor simply said, "Phir yahan pe aake maine try karna start kiya." That single decision eventually became the turning point in his career.
Hrithik Roshan became the first inspiration
When Rahul Varun asked about inspiration, the actor replied, "I swear to God ek hi tha starting mein." Sidhharth Gupta remembered watching "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" and said, "Who is this beautiful human being?" The performer added, "Usko dekh ke laga this is not natural." Growing up in Dehradun, he felt many youngsters dream of films but very few believe it can happen. "Somebody has to dare ki ye ho sakta hai."
School plays turned a dream into reality
Looking back, the actor shared that inspiration slowly became action. "Wahan se meri inspiration start hui thi." "Koi aisa bhi dikh sakta hai." "Aisa bhi naach sakta hai." "Aisi bhi acting kar sakta hai." "Aisi body ho sakti hai." Sidhharth Gupta called that moment his first wish to become an actor and ended by saying, "School plays phir college plays. Things started from there."
