7th March, Mumbai: Acclaimed singer Someshwar Mahadevan V, who is known for many hit singles such as Awadh Mai Aaj Diwali hai, Garba Racha Lo and Happy New Year, wowed the audience with his beautiful performance of Arijit Singh’s Tum Hi Ho during the 9th Rajastan International Film Festival (RIFF).
Actor Parikshit Sahani, Music Director/Producer Mithoon, Famous Songwriter Sayeed Quadri, Writer and Director N. Chandra, Writer and Producer Anant Mahadevan, and many others were among the celebrities from the international and bollywood film fraternity who applauded Someshwar for his captivating rendition of songs from both his album and bollywood.
Mahadevan was awarded the male
category’s Best Playback Singer Award for his latest album “Happy New Year.” “We worked hard on the album”. He told in an interview while accepting his award. The singer also applauded RIFF as an organisation, stating how the founders Anshu Harsh and Somender Harsh are doing commendable works towards providing a stage for rajasthani artists to showcase their talents.
The album Happy New Year was also screened in big theatres houses such as INOX, which further established his status as a rising star in the music industry.
The flawless fusion of traditional Indian music with contemporary sounds in Mahadevan’s music has made him a favourite among music fans. His lovely voice has captured the hearts of many, and he has contributed to a number of regional and Bollywood films. His commitment to
his craft and hard work are recognised by this honour. Mahadevan is back on the work scene and has a couple of projects lined up. His upcoming releases includes Baazigar, Padharo Mhare des, & Bas Tu hi.
Someshwar’s big win at the RIFF has certainly elevated his fame. Up-and-coming OTT platforms are clamouring for talkshows and interviews with him, and the singer promised to reveal the details about his other projects soon.
