Review
Tiger 3, the latest installment in the Tiger franchise, continues the saga of espionage and action featuring Salman Khan as Tiger and Katrina Kaif as Zoya. The film introduces Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist Aatish Rehman, weaving a complex tale of personal vendettas, old alliances, and a mission to save Tiger’s son from impending danger.
Much like its predecessors, Tiger 3 revolves around a mission involving Tiger and Zoya, this time driven by personal stakes. Aatish Rehman, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi, emerges as a formidable foe seeking revenge for the loss of his wife and unborn child. Tiger, now on a mission beyond national boundaries, rallies his old colleagues to save his son from Aatish’s sinister plans.
While the storyline is intricate and filled with unexpected twists, the movie struggles with inconsistent pacing, particularly in the underwhelming first half. The narrative gains momentum in the second half, offering intense hand-to-hand combat and well-choreographed action sequences. Despite occasional lulls in the 2-hour-36-minute runtime, the film manages to keep audiences engaged with explosive sounds and visuals.
The 15-minute camaraderie between Salman and SRK stands out as a high point, injecting an extra dose of excitement into the film. The action sequences, though at times unrealistic, are superbly choreographed and provide enough adrenaline-pumping moments. The attempt to address diplomatic relations between rival nations adds depth to the plot without veering into preachy territory.
Performances
Salman Khan reprises his role as Tiger with the same swag and charm, showcasing remarkable stamina at 58. Katrina Kaif impresses with her seamless execution of action sequences, although the chemistry between the lead pair feels somewhat lacking. Emraan Hashmi’s portrayal of the ruthless antagonist is a revelation, adding intensity to the confrontations with Salman.
Lastly
Tiger 3 offers a mix of thrilling action, intricate plotlines, and commendable performances. Despite pacing issues, the film caters to the masses with its focus on on-screen spectacle over preachy dialogues. Salman, Katrina, and Emraan deliver noteworthy performances, making it a must-watch for fans of the Tiger franchise. Take the risk, catch it on the big screen, and stay seated for a surprise after the final credits!
