6th April 2023, Mumbai: The death of Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey has sparked calls for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her demise. The post-mortem report of the 25-year-old actress reveals the presence of an unknown liquid in her stomach and injury marks on her wrist.
On March 26, Akanksha was found hanging in a hotel room. While the initial investigation suggested that she died by suicide, her lawyer has alleged foul play and demanded a CBI probe. The lawyer, Shashank Shekhar Tripathi, has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, claiming that Akanksha did not die by suicide and was “killed” by some people in the hotel room.
The post-mortem report of Akanksha suggests that she was not in an inebriated state, but 20 ml of an unknown brown liquid was found inside her stomach. Moreover, the mucous membrane of her stomach was choked, indicating that the liquid caused damage. The report also states that there were injury marks on her wrist.
Akanksha’s mother had filed a case against her actor-boyfriend Samar Singh and his brother Sanjay Singh, accusing them of harassing her. In her police complaint, Akanksha’s mother claimed that Samar Singh used to hit her daughter and that his brother had threatened to kill her. Akanksha’s lawyer has also alleged that many known people in the Bhojpuri industry were exploiting her and not paying her for her work.
