01 April 2023, Mumbai: The live broadcast of “Inkigayo,” which will take place on 2nd april, won’t have BTS member Jimin on stage. Jimin solely intends to interact with viewers through the “Inkigayo” pre-recording. Earlier today, BIGHIT MUSIC made the following statement: “Due to his busy schedule, Jimin will not be able to attend the live broadcast of ‘Inkigayo’.” Jimin previously won the top prize right after singing his solo song “Like Crazy” on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on the 30th of last month and KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” on the 31st.
The 24th of March saw the release of Jimin’s debut solo album, “FACE.” The new album “Face” tells the tale of Jimin fully confronting himself and preparing for a fresh start as an artist while truly mending the numerous feelings he has experienced over the previous two years. The synth pop song “Like Crazy” has a melancholy tone that contrasts with the strong synth sound and drum sound. Also, ‘FACE’ sold 1,454,223 copies, breaking the previous record for debut solo artists, according to information made public by Hanteo Chart, a website that compiles domestic album sales (sales in the first week of album release).
The most recent chart, announced by Oricon on March 31 (April 3rd / Counting period March 20th – 26th), shows that ‘FACE’ by Jimin, that was released on the 24th, got 231,501 points per week, and ‘Weekly,’ a song that was released on the same day. It topped the list of best-selling albums overall. The album “FACE,” according to Oricon, sold 225,000 copies in its first week, which is the largest sales volume (CD) for a solo artist album this year. It also immediately topped the “Weekly Album Ranking” (as of April 3). It received weekly points and won the top spot in the overall album rankings. With this, Jimin won three titles in the Oricon’s weekly music ranking, placing first in the weekly combined album ranking, weekly album ranking, and weekly digital album ranking consecutively.
