Meeting the Future Family: A Mix of Nerves and Relief
During a recent podcast interview, Kunal talked back on his first encounter with the family of Soha Ali Khan and acknowledged that he was a little anxious, especially around Sharmila Tagore. He said that Sharmila avoided making direct eye contact and diverted her questioning to other people throughout the first awkward exchange.
He remembered, with a laugh, “Her queries weren’t meant for me. “So, what do you do?” she inquired while glancing at a magazine. Kunal emphasised that his connection with Sharmila Tagore has improved with time, despite their first tense moments. He emphasised the significance of getting over early awkwardness and forming sincere friendships, which eventually result in stronger bonds.
Finding Common Ground with his Brother-in-Law
Kunal also reminisced with fondness about his first meeting with Saif Ali Khan, mentioning how the tension in the room was reduced by Saif’s lighthearted remark about his biceps. According to Kunal, this insignificant act made a big difference in breaking the ice and fostering a more laid-back atmosphere.
Kunal and Soha tied the knot in 2009 after dating for several years. They first met on the set of their film, “99,” and their romance blossomed from there. The couple welcomed their daughter, Inaaya Naumi, in 2017.
Beyond the Silver Screen: Building Genuine Connections
Kunal also had nothing but praise for his brother-in-law Saif, highlighting his kind disposition and sincere concern for other people. He disclosed that their discussions usually center around more general subjects and common interests rather than movies. Kunal believes that this demonstrates Saif’s capacity to establish connections with individuals outside of his work life.
Kunal’s story offers a relatable reminder that navigating family dynamics can be challenging, even for celebrities. It highlights the importance of overcoming initial awkwardness, fostering genuine connections, and finding common ground to build strong and lasting relationships.
