30th March,2024, Mumbai: Actor Eklavya Sood, who stars in the web series Raisinghani v/s Raisinghani, argues that it takes work to truly emulate a character’s every action. He claims to have a comprehensive, step-by-step process for beginning to live a character.
Trek To Neverland, Ittar, and other films have included Eklavya, who claims he enjoys the role he is portraying in his new web series. “I portray Harsh Nokwal in the show, who is Ankita’s romantic interest. He says, “The character is multifaceted and has a personal purpose in the show that is kind of disclosed later.
Eklavya Sood On His Character “Harsh Nokwal”
Speaking about what drew him to the part, he states, “I received a brief from the writer and the creative director, Bhavna, ma’am, as I was getting ready for this character. They perceived the character as somewhat of a South Bombay lad, yet he had a contagious, youthful enthusiasm. Every space he enters seems to be illuminated by him. So that’s what pulled me in to this character—that flamboyance and intensity. As actors, we constantly strive to portray roles that are distinct from both who we are and what we have previously done. I played a completely different role in my last movie, Trek to Neverland, which is currently playing at festivals, than I do in this one. As performers, our goal is to portray a unique persona with a unique ideology, philosophy, and soul.
Eklavya Shares His Preparation Process In Detail
Regarding the preparation, Eklvaya reports that he followed everything step-by-step. “The process of bringing each character to life on screen is unique. I started by reading all of the shared dockets for this particular individual. I went over the script several times. Reading these scripts helps you visualise the character and helps you predict his behaviour and body language. After that, you begin working on the character’s past. For this character, I penned a five to seven page backstory. I discussed that with the writers to check if we were in agreement.
After they gave their approval, I set out onto the streets, attempting to read the body language of the characters. Additionally, I met a few kids from South Bombay and studied their nonverbal cues. However, attempting to figure out a playlist for this individual was the most fascinating aspect of the entire adventure. I considered the genre of music he would enjoy listening to. Music is really important to me. It facilitates my transitions between the persona and feelings. I eventually deduced that he listens to a lot of the upbeat songs by Ranveer Singh. He plays a lot of Indian rap music, including songs by Karan Aujla, Sidhu Moosewala, and KRSNA. There were also a few foreign rappers among them. Thus, these songs all essentially assisted me in immersing myself in the role. Additionally, I was changing the characters’ playlist while we were filming. I discovered a song that was ideal for the dynamic between Reem’s character Harsh and Ankita during this process. Raftaar’s “Baby Marvake Maanegi” is the song. When Harsh and Ankita’s chemistry is established, I’m sure people will understand why I chose this song,” he says.
