KRG Studios: Pioneering Expansion and Collaboration
This partnership with Anjali Menon is significant for KRG as it transitions from film distribution to full-service film production. KRG is thrilled to match its storytelling DNA with Anjali Menon’s unique narrative approach, with an emphasis on overcoming storytelling gaps inside the Kannada industry and beyond.
Crafting Content-Rich Stories: The Ethos of KRG’s Collaboration
Since starting its studio distribution company in 2017, KRG has distributed more than 100 films throughout Karnataka. In 2020, they took the leap into full-fledged production, from ideation to the making of feature films. “Rathnan Prapancha,” helmed by Rohit Padaki and featuring Dhananjay, brought KRG early praise. The movie received a tonne of positive reviews after being released straight on Prime Video India. KRG proceeded with its voyage after this accomplishment, releasing “Gurudev Hoysala” in March 2023.
Anjali Menon and KRG Studios: A Vision for Memorable Cinema
The fundamental principle guiding KRG’s partnership with Anjali Menon and upcoming filmmakers is the creation of genre-spanning, content-rich narratives. Focusing on the four languages of the South, KRG works with seasoned storytellers to support up-and-coming talent. The art of storytelling continues to be the primary focus, solidifying KRG’s dedication to enhancing the cinematic narrative experience.
“I am looking forward to the collaboration with KRG Studios as we share the commitment to create engaging movies built from our cultures with world-class production values,” director Anjali Menon remarked in reference to this partnership. We are eager to take audiences on memorable, enjoyable, and thought-provoking cinematic trips since audiences are engaging with India’s rich story landscapes beyond language barriers.”
Producer and KRG co-founder Karthik Gowda continued, saying, “Our partnership with Anjali Menon marks a new chapter for KRG, where the essence of storytelling takes precedence.” We firmly believe in the power of film, and our collaboration is a testament to our commitment to telling stories that speak to a wide range of viewers and linguistic backgrounds. When my good friend and seasoned entertainment executive Vijay Subramaniam and I got to talking about the impact that well-executed narrative and concept-based stories had on consumers, that’s when our journey in this direction started. I am appreciative that he recognised our potential and chose to work with us as a co-producer and mentor. We are able to create these kinds of alliances together, and we hope that they will be unique and most importantly, beneficial to the clients we serve, with the support of like-minded people like Chaitanya Hegde of Tulsa.”
Redefining Cinematic Landscapes: The Anticipation of Collaborative Impact
KRG believes that this partnership will help to advance storytelling in both the local and national arenas, in addition to redefining cinematic landscapes. The collaboration between KRG and Anjali Menon demonstrates their commitment to high-caliber material and inventive storytelling, as they continue to influence the direction of South Indian cinema.
