17th April,2024, Mumbai: The British premiere of “Lord Curzon Ki Haveli,” actor Anshuman Jha’s film about Asians in the UK that has been making waves at film festivals for the past six months, will take place on May 11 at the venerable Regent Cinema as part of the prestigious UK-Asian Film Festival 2024. It is anticipated that Anshuman Jha and his leading woman Rasika Dugal will stroll the red carpet in London.
The film will have its premiere at IFFM Australia, North American premiere at CSAFF Chicago!
The film will ultimately return to Britain, where it was originally shot, after having its world premiere at IFFM Australia, North American premiere at CSAFF Chicago, Canadian premiere at ISAFF Vancouver, European premiere at Europe’s largest genre film festival, “Razor Reel,” and Indian premiere at WENCH&Red Lorry. It was deemed “a really inventive film” by the judges. And a crazy, extremely desi tribute to Alfred Hitchcock. Audiences that identify as British Asian or cross-over will find it highly entertaining due to its dark humour and postcolonial elements.”
Anshuman Jha on the film getting at the Prestigious Uk-asian Film Festival
As stated by aspiring filmmaker Anshuman Jha “A complete circle feels like. The movie Lord Curzon Ki Haveli is about Asians in the United Kingdom. We shot it four hours away from London in Yorkshire. And it seems fitting that the film’s nine-month festival run, which included stops at the UK-Asian Film Festival 2024, IFFM Australia, CSAFF North America, ISAFF Canada, Razor Reel Europe, and Wench & Red Lorry in India. We are thrilled to present our dark comedic thriller to UK viewers on opening night in advance of its global release later this year.”
The main actor Arjun Mathur says “This movie’s storyline struck me as absurd and strange right away. I believe that’s what drew me in at first—the inability to neatly classify it as a thriller, black humour, or mystery—rather than falling into any one genre. That, in my opinion, is the reaction that viewers all over the world are getting from the movie and why they enjoy it. We are thrilled to be making our British debut at the UK-ASIAN Film Festival in London in 2024.”
