In a recent promotional event, when the producer Gudur Narayan Reddy was asked about the challenges he faced making his new movie “Razakar,” he shared a surprising story. The movie takes us back to a time of big problems and mysteries called the Razakar era. Reddy remembered a special day that kick-started everything – January 27, 2022.
A Big Idea Strikes on a Special Day
He said that on January 27, 2022, which was the day he went to seek blessings from Tirupati Lord Balaji ,”As soon as I landed at Renigunta Airport, I felt something big brewing.” He remembered his village days, where the Razakars had left a big mark with their actions. But it was on this particular day in January, thanks to a divine signal from Lord Balaji, that his real journey began.
Months of Diligent Research
He shared Because we live in a village where we’ve seen a lot of damage and blasts caused by the Razakars, I’ve always been curious about them since I was a kid. But it was on January 27, 2022, when I had a really strong feeling, thanks to Lord Balaji, that I knew I had to start looking into their story.
For six long months, the team dove deep into research, reading over 120 books to unlock the hidden story, and carefully pieced together the script and storyline, hoping to keep everything hush-hush. But secrets have a way of slipping out, and soon, word got out about their project.
No Shooting in Famous Palaces
One big problem they ran into was getting permission to shoot in famous palaces in Hyderabad, like Chowmahalla Palace and Falaknuma Palace. Despite their beauty and history, the palaces said no. Reddy shared ,The first thing is, Hyderabad has some really beautiful palaces, like Chowmahalla Palace and Falaknuma Palace, which is also a 5-star hotel. The problem is, they didn’t let us film there. They said yes to others before us, like for a movie called “Sitaraman,” but not for our movie about the Razakars as they didn’t want to be part of a movie about the Razakars, fearing controversy. They even put it on Google that Gudur Narayan Reddy is producing “Razakar” before we officially announced it, and that’s when all the trouble started.
Looking Back at the Razakar Times
The Razakars were a controversial group back then, causing a lot of trouble after India’s partition. They had power and influence, and their story is still talked about today. With the movie “Razakar,” Reddy and his team want to uncover their secrets and share them with everyone.
Razakar Cast
The cast of this movie is truly exceptional, with each actor bringing their character to life with incredible depth and authenticity. From Bobby Simha as Rajireddy to Tej Sapru as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, each actor did a fantastic job. Makarand Deshpande played Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, and Raj Arjun portrayed Kasim Razvi with great skill. The dedication and effort put in by the whole team are clear in their performances. Annusriya Tripathi, Vedhika, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Indraja, Prema, Thalaivasal Vijay, Chandhu Nath Nair, Tarak Ponnappa, Arav Choudary, John Vijay, and Cheluva Raj all contributed brilliantly to make this movie special.
