10th April 2023, Mumbai: Actress-producer Arushi Nishank says that she doesn’t see anything particularly wrong with the use of filters on social media. She adds that, however, it is important, be confident and happy with the way you look.
“I feel it should be a personal choice. If you feel confident without the filters, you should go ahead with it but, at the same time, if you feel the need for it, it shouldn’t bother anyone. In this new social media era, we have given so much liberty to people behind the screens that they can make or break your confidence. Judging people merely on the basis of using filters or not is itself such a vague matter,” she says.
She adds, “I believe it all starts with accepting our own flaws. Beauty lies within and it should be made sure that no human being is ever made insecure about the way they look. We should also be careful with the way we make fun of children about their features, something said by us in a fun way can leave a permanent scar on them. With that being said, there are days when even I don’t even feel confident in my skin, so I take a day or two as a breather to start loving my skin. There are so many apps nowadays that have unnecessary made the beauty standards look so superficial and also made the normal look as something so unnatural.
She adds that being a celebrity, she is careful about how and what she posts. “I am very particular about what I put out on my social media. I make sure I don’t post something which doesn’t resonate with me. It’s my constant effort to keep my social media as clean and neutral, as I understand, being a public figure comes with a lot of responsibilities. People love seeing what I do or follow and with the same love and trust they also try and follow. My routine is simple and I love sharing only what I follow and believe in,” she says.
