Toxic Box Office Day 3: Yash & Kiara Advani’s Film Sees Another Dip, Earns Just This MUCH CRORE

Toxic: A Fairytale For Grownups, starring Yash in the lead, has continued its theatrical run with a worldwide gross collection of Rs 221.45 crore. The film has earned Rs 197.70 crore in India and Rs 23.75 crore from overseas markets so far. The Geetu Mohandas directorial has collected Rs 165.35 crore in India net across 66,598 shows, according to the latest available box office estimates.

On Day 3, which marked the film’s first Friday, Toxic collected around Rs 26.60 crore in India net. The film recorded approximately 19,390 shows on Friday. However, the Friday numbers came with a noticeable decline. The film witnessed a 29.3% drop compared with its Thursday India net collection of Rs 37.65 crore.

The drop is particularly significant because Friday usually marks the beginning of the weekend and often brings stronger footfalls for major releases.

The Hindi version remained the biggest contributor on Friday, earning approximately Rs 23 crore gross and Rs 19.15 crore net. The Kannada version collected around Rs 6 crore gross and Rs 5 crore net, while the Tamil version contributed approximately Rs 87 lakh gross and Rs 75 lakh net. 

Meanwhile, the Telugu version earned around Rs 1.75 crore gross and Rs 1.50 crore net. The Malayalam version added approximately Rs 23 lakh gross and Rs 20 lakh net.

With its India and overseas earnings combined, Toxic has reached a worldwide gross collection of Rs 221.45 crore. The film has earned Rs 197.70 crore gross from the Indian market, while overseas markets have contributed another Rs 23.75 crore. Despite the sizeable worldwide total, the Friday drop has raised questions about the film’s momentum during the crucial opening weekend.

The makers have not officially announced the film’s budget. However, several reports have claimed that Toxic has been made on a massive budget of around Rs 500 crore. With such a high reported production cost, the film will need sustained collections over the coming days to establish itself as a theatrical success.

A strong Saturday and Sunday performance will therefore be crucial for the Yash starrer. The weekend trend could provide a clearer picture of whether Toxic can maintain its box office momentum.

Toxic: A Fairytale For Grownups released in theatres on August 26 after facing several delays. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. Alongside Yash, the cast includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in key roles. As Toxic enters the rest of its opening weekend, all eyes will be on its Saturday and Sunday collections.
