7th November 2023, Mumbai: Zeenat Aman, the experienced actress, disclosed that she has been dealing with a condition called ptosis for the past four decades, affecting her vision. She openly discussed her struggles with this condition, especially challenging in Bollywood, where appearance carries great significance. She provided a health update, mentioning her gradual recovery in recent times.
The Veteran Actress on Her Eye Condition
This morning, on her Instagram account, Zeenat Aman posted several pictures from her hospital room, revealing her battle with a condition known as ptosis and providing an update on her health. “Recovery has been slow, steady, and is ongoing. But I’m happy to share that my vision is so much clearer now.”
She elaborated on her condition, stating that she has been dealing with ptosis for the past 40 years, a consequence of an injury from decades ago that worsened over time, impairing her vision significantly. Coping with this challenge was difficult for her, especially because it impacted her appearance and limited her opportunities in various ways, ‘subject of unwanted attention.’
“But despite the gossip, the comments, and the questions, I never felt diminished by it. It helped of course that there were always a few stalwarts that stood by me and chose to work with me still,” added the legendary actress.
She continued to share her experience with ptosis, mentioning that despite trying various treatments, they proved ineffective. However, a turning point came in April this year when she learned about a potentially helpful surgery. Zeenat Aman underwent a series of tests and remembered…”terrified”
