Vivek Agnihotri, the director of the movie ‘The Kashmir Files,’ has criticized the Filmfare Awards in his recent tweet. He slammed the well-known Bollywood award show for nominating his movie in different categories. Agnihotri is known for his bold and unfiltered opinions, which he often expresses on social media. Earlier, he wrote a long note on Twitter, expressing his views on the award show.
The director took to social media to express his disagreement and mentioned the reasons why he refused to be part of these unethical and anti-cinema awards. Vivek Agnihotri tweeted that he learned from the media that his film, ‘The Kashmir Files,’ has been nominated in seven categories for the 68th Filmfare Awards. However, he politely refused to accept these awards.
According to Agnihotri, Filmfare awards consider only the stars’ faces and ignore the faces of others who contribute to the film. In the unethical and sycophantic world of Filmfare, master directors like Sanjay Bhansali or Sooraj Barjatya have no faces, and they are not recognized for their contribution to the film industry. Instead, Sanjay Bhansali looks like Alia Bhatt, Sooraj Barjatya looks like Mr. Bachchan, and Annes Bazmi looks like Karthik Aryan.
Agnihotri believes that a filmmaker’s dignity does not come from Filmfare awards, and this humiliating system must end. He has strongly criticized the Filmfare Awards for their unfair treatment towards the film industry and unethical practices.
