5th February,2024, Mumbai: Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who helmed 12th fail, has uncovered that it was Rajkumar Hirani who proposed him that Manoj Sharma’s book 12th fail can be made into a film. According to Seasons of India, Vidhu said that Rajkumar proposed Vikrant Massey’s name. Vidhu likewise uncovered how Vikrant roused him ‘to coordinate this film’.

As of late, Vikrant, alongside Vidhu and co-entertainer Medha Shankar, celebrated 100 days of 12th fail in film. At the occasion, Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “Manoj Sharma (on whom the film is based) came to me with the book (Twelfth Come up short) and mentioned me for a snippet in the book. I saw book ke peeche (rear) Raju Hirani and Sachin Tendulkar ne taarif ki hai (lauded it).”
He added, “I called Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) he resembled this book is a (can be made into a) film! I asked will you direct it? Yet, he was occupied with something. Then I began composing and I became hopelessly enamored with script. It was Raju who recommended Vikrant’s name. I had seen his film A Passing in the Gunj and I had enjoyed him. Vikrant enlivened me to coordinate this film.”
