17 November 2023, Mumbai: The Marvel Cinematic Universe welcomed its latest addition, ‘The Marvels,’ directed by Nia DaCosta, starring Brie Larson and Iman Vellani. Despite its initial release on November 10, the film’s performance at the Indian box office has not seen significant growth. On its seventh day, November 16, ‘The Marvels’ witnessed a decline in collections, earning Rs 91 lakh, marking a drop from its previous daily earnings.
The Marvels Modest Opening and Diwali Performance
‘The Marvels’ began its box office journey in India with a modest opening, accumulating Rs 2.83 crore on November 11. The Diwali release on November 12 brought in Rs 1 crore. However, as the week progressed, the film faced a decline in daily earnings, with Day 7’s collection standing at Rs 91 lakh. The cumulative box office collection now amounts to Rs 12.06 crore in the country.
The Marvels Day 7 Performance
On Day 7, ‘The Marvels’ reported an overall 11.63% occupancy, indicating a steady but declining audience engagement. Despite the drop in collections, the film maintained a consistent presence in theaters, albeit with reduced box office figures compared to its initial days

Nia DaCosta’s film brings together three female superheroes in the Marvel universe—Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) or Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) or Ms. Marvel, and Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). The interconnectivity of these characters within the MCU has been praised for its seamless integration, providing fans with a fresh and engaging superhero ensemble.
