31 October 2023, Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut’s latest film, ‘Tejas,’ has been struggling at the box office since its release. The film experienced a significant drop in collections on October 30. Despite Kangana’s lead role, ‘Tejas’ has failed to gain traction with audiences.
Tejas Box Office Numbers
On October 30, ‘Tejas’ saw a sharp decline in its box office earnings, managing to collect just Rs 50 lakh. This downturn brings the total box office collection in India to a modest Rs 4.25 crore. The film, directed by Sarvesh Mewara, has shown consistent underperformance since its release on October 27.
Occupancy and Struggles
The film’s occupancy rate on October 30 was a mere 6.60 percent, indicating the challenges it faces in attracting audiences to theaters. ‘Tejas’ faced strong competition at the box office as it clashed with Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail.’
Kangana’s Plea
Kangana Ranaut took to X to encourage audiences to watch ‘Tejas’ in theaters rather than waiting for its OTT release. In a video message, she expressed concern over the declining footfall in theaters even before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the situation has worsened since then. She emphasized the importance of supporting theaters and enjoying films with family and friends, warning that theaters may not survive if this trend continues.

Kangana’s appeal for audience support is a testament to the challenges faced by theaters and the film industry in the current climate.
