Yesterday, February 14, Shah Rukh Khan was present at the World Government Summit (WGS) held in Dubai. The actor talked about his experiences getting film proposals from the West during his session.
One of India’s most well-known cultural icons, Shah Rukh Khan, was present at the World Government Summit (WGS) on February 14 in Dubai. In an interview titled “Timeless Success: A Conversation with Shah Rukh Khan,” the actor discussed his experiences in the film industry.
Shrugging his shoulders and adding that he is “brown enough” to play the villain in a James Bond movie, Shah Rukh Khan stated on Wednesday that the part he actually wanted and was never offered was that of Agent 007, possibly because he was too short. The well-known actor, who exudes charm on screen and is renowned for his unmatched wit, was questioned about his future crossover projects and the reason it’s taking him so long to appear in a Hollywood production. At the esteemed occasion, everyone was taken aback by King Khan’s response.
SRK disclosed that he have never been offered a film in Hollywood or in England said. He said “I have said this honestly but no one believes it, so I am gonna say it again. No one has ever offered me any work crossover of substance. I may have had conversations with people. I know a lot of lovely people from the West, English and American film industry, but nobody has offered me any good work.”
Bollywood Baadshah also added “I hear actors talk about ‘Oh yes I want a crossover’. I think I still have to learn how to be able to deliver to an audience that likes me. And instead of spreading myself too thin. And of course, if you are not offered a job, how do you take it? I have never been offered a film in Hollywood or England”.
The 58-year-old actor claimed that he hasn’t received any noteworthy offers aside from 2008’s “Slumdog Millionaire”. Later which got played by Anil Kapoor because he was already hosting the third season of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC), a popular quiz game show that makes for a plot point in the multiple Oscar-winning movie. “… I just felt in the story that was being told, the guy who was hosting was very mean… I just found this guy was cheating and being dishonest as the host. So, I found it strange that I’m being a host and cheating in the film. I explained to Mr. Boyle that I wouldn’t like to do it. And then, there are better actors than me… Mr Anil Kapoor did it and he was fantastic,” he added.
Shah Rukh stated during his time hosting “KBC” that he wanted people to succeed and tried to be as supportive as he could, but “you can’t… because the producers are shouting in your ears ‘Don’t! You’ve expressed enough.
The actor, who has spent 33 years in the Indian film industry, reflected that he lost both of his parents at a young age and that his only choice was to keep going. You acknowledge that, well, this cannot be undone. You must keep making the best of what remains because there is no way to return from death.
Sometimes the best films and the nicest of stories become the biggest flops, in reference to the unpredictable nature of the film industry- Shah Rukh said that whether your movie did well or not at the box office on Friday, you still have to return to work on Monday. The actor claimed that he accidentally became a love peddler since his lifelong dream was to be an action hero with a gun, a great baritone, and eight pack abs.
The celebrity acknowledged he was licking his wounds during his four-year hiatus following a string of failures, but he also learned how to cook “the best pizza in the world”.
